Flag with Cross

Dale Alan Botnen, age 73, passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2007, in Salome, AZ.

Dale was born on Sept. 6, 1933 in Neillsville, Wis. He was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant from the United States Air force in 1955. He married his wife of over 51 years that same year, and then moved back to Wisconsin. In 1957, he and his wife and newborn daughter moved back to California where he went to work for Pacific Gas and Electric Company, employed as a line patrolman for over 30 years.

Dale was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He almost never missed a sporting event that his son or grand-children participated in. He was a Good Samaritan who always helped anyone in need… family, friends, neighbors and strangers. He enjoyed the outdoors including, fishing, hunting, and camping. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife in one of their 5th wheels. After retirement he and his wife moved to Oregon where they lived for 15 years before deciding to spend their remaining year’s full time RV-ing.

He is survived by his wife, Joann; a daughter, Deborah; a son David; and seven grandchildren, Amanda, Joshua (who has followed his grandfather’s footsteps into the Air force), Kyle, Zachary, Jacob, David and Ryan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olaf and Della Botnen; and sisters, Karen Trimberger and Bonnie Elmhorst.

A private family service was held in Salome with his wife, daughter, son and all his grandchildren in attendance. Donations may be made to Barbara Foster, Secretary of Snow Birds West Club Fund and mailed to her at P.O. Box 633, Salome, AZ 85348
