Schoengarth, Johanna #2 (10 MAR 1854 - 5 MAR 1933)

Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.) friends were saddened this week to learn of the death of Mrs. William Schoengarth, who passed away at the farm home near Granton (Clark Co.) Sunday noon after a lingering illness. Mrs. Schoengarth was the mother of Miss Anita Schoengarth, grammar room instructor in the Dorchester school. Miss Schoengarth had been with her mother since a week ago last Sunday. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Mapleworks Lutheran Church and burial took place at Neillsville, Wis.

Mrs. Schoengarth, a pioneer resident of the town of Grant, was born March 10, 1854 in Germany. On May 20, 1874 she was united in marriage to William Schoengarth. They arrived in the United States on Dec. 24, 1890, and settled on their present farm home.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Schoengarth leaves four daughters to mourn her loss, Miss Emma and Mrs. Geo. Reudel, of Augusta, and Miss Hulda and Anita, at home. The many Dorchester friends of Miss Schoengarth join us in offering deepest sympathy to the mourning ones.
