Amundson, Lorraine Iola (Marriage - 21 Jul. 1947)

Miss Lorraine Iola Amudson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. O. J. Amundson, Greenwood, became the bride of Bernal Edwin Lang, Unity, in a service read by the Rev. Theodore Nelson at the United Lutheran Church, Greenwood, July 21, the day also being the birthday of the bride.

The couple were attended by Mrs. Robert Funke, New Holstein, sister of the bride, who was maid of honor, Miss Eva Jean Lang, sister of the groom, who was bridesmaid; Robert Funke, New Holstein, brother-in-law of the bride, who was best man, and Robert Stewart Jr., Greenwood, who was groomsman. Donald Lang, Withee, and Melvin Olson, ? ushered.

The bride wore a velvet brocaded nylon marquisette gown, styled with a deep net yoke, a fitted bodice and a full gathered skirt extending into a train. Her fingertip veil fell from a sweetheart bonnet of net and lace with a cluster of orange blossoms. She carried a bouquet of white Johanna Hill roses and blue cornflowers.

The matron of honor wore a dress of dotted marquisette styled with a net yoke and bustle. The bridesmaid wore a dress of blue moiré taffeta with a fitted bodice and sweetheart neckline lined with pink. Both wore headdresses of pink carnations and net, lace mitts and carried shower bouquets of rubrum lilies.

A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents after the ceremony, and supper was served to 50 guests at the church parlors. A dance in honor of the couple was given that evening at the Merry Ol’ Gardens.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School with the class of 1945, and the bridegroom is employed by the Stewart Creese Corporation, Greenwood, where the couple will live following their return from a honeymoon.

The Register joins their many local friends in extending congratulations and best wishes for a long and happy wedded life.
