Fields, Franklin William (3 April 1870 - 5 March 1940)

Franklin William Fields, son of George and Olive Hardy Fields, was born April 3, 1870, in the town of Sherman, Clark County, Wis., and died at the Krohn hospital, Black River Falls, March 5, 1940, at the age of 69 years, 11 months and 2 days.

At the age of eight years he moved with his parents to Jackson County. He attended school at the Oak Grove and Tindahl schools.

In 1913 he was united in marriage to Miss Lizzie Banker, who preceded him in death in August, 1928. He spent much of his time working in the woods and for the Brockway saw mill at Black River Falls. Since the death of his wife he spent most of his time at his nephew’s Clarence Fields, until last fall when he built himself a home near Tindahl. He lived there until being taken to the hospital Friday, March 1st, where death overtook him.

Funeral services were held at the Fred Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Robt. Osborn, at 2:00 o’clock Thursday afternoon, March 7, and the interment was in Curtis Cemetery.
