Kubaskie, Arthur (23 Oct. 1925 - 11 Feb. 1940)

After a brave fight made for life, Arthur Kubaskie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Kubaskie, died at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire about 2:00 o’clock last Sunday morning, after a week’s suffering for an internal injury received while helping with the work at his farm home. The family remained almost constantly at his bedside during his confinement in the hospital, as it was known the injury was a very serious one. The remains of this promising young were brought to M. Kretschmer’s undertaking parlors, in this village early Sunday morning.

Arthur, older son of Stephen and Lulu Stevens Kubaskie, was born on the farm where he spent his short span of life, on Oct. 23, 1925, and died Feb. 11, 1940, aged 14 years, 3 months and 18 days. Surviving are his parents, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services were at St. John’s Evangelical and Reformed church at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon and were attended by many sorrowing relatives, neighbors and friends. He was a member of the freshman class in high school, and the high school faculty and pupils attended in a body. Beautiful flowers expressed sympathy to those who are mourning at this time. The Rev. V. D Weidler officiated at the service. Burial was in the Mentor Cemetery.
