Edward and John Linder were home over the holidays. They left Wednesday for California, Fred Aschbacher and Walter Steiner, of Monroe, are taking the trip with them.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Wilbur entertained the neighborhood group. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Rosolack and Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Farnsworth, at a New Years day banquet dinner.

Wray Smith is driving a new pickup truck.

Ben Hart and wife were business callers in Eau Claire Tuesday.

Miss Alice Fowler received a complicated fracture of her right wrist early Thursday morning by a fall part way down the stairway from the second story of their home. Dr. Schwarz was called and reduced the facture, and later she was taken to the Krohn clinic for an x-ray examination. Mrs. Fowler and Mrs. Waters accompanied the doctor and Miss Fowler to the hospital.

Fern and Lalah Fristad, of Eau Claire, spent part of the vacation with their grandmother here.

Mrs. Fowler and Miss Alice were in Eau Claire Wednesday, Mrs. Fowler having further treatments for her eye which was operated on for cataract.

Last Wednesday evening was the time for the Excelsior club’s annual Christmas party, and the ladies fathered at the home of Mrs. J. C. Johnson for the event. About two dozen were present, and much merriment was had in the exchange of gifts.

Seventy two hours of northwest gale got everyone into winter wraps and mackinaws. The mercury dropped to 16 below.

The condition of our venerable townsman, John Bryner, remains about the same. He is confined to his bed most of the time.

The dancing party by Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Falk at the town hall New Years Eve, was attended by a large number of guests. Quite a number were present from other places. A big time was had.
