Reishus, Mildred (6 JUL 1932)

A very beautiful wedding was solemnized last Wednesday afternoon at 4:30 at the George Reishus home at Nevis, Minn., when Miss Mildred Reishus, Mason City, Iowa, daughter of the late Rev. T.S. Reishus, formerly of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), was united in marriage to Emil R. Erickson, Dorchester (Clark Co.), son of Iver Erickson, Curtiss, Wis. The ceremony was performed by the bride’s brother, the Rev. L.T. Reishus of Velva, N.D.

The bride was beautifully dressed in a peach formal gown with veil and carried a bouquet of talisman roses, sweet peas and lilies of the valley. Her attendants, two of her sisters, Mrs. F.W. McLennan, of Cottonwood, Minn., and Mrs. E.J. McKean of Tomah, were gowned in blue embroidered net, wore hats to match and carried roses. The groom and his attendants, George Reishus, and K.P.B. Reishus, of East Grand Forks, Minn., brothers of the bride, wore the conventional dark suits. Miss Eleanor Ann McKean, acting as flower girl, wore a green and white organdie with hat to match and Miss Ruth Reishus, acting as train bearers, wore a light green organdie dress and hat. The pages, John David and Frederick Reishus, and the ring bearers, Thomas Reishus, were dressed in white. The room was tastily decorated with wild and cut flowers.

Just before the ceremony Mrs. F.E. Reishus sang, "O, Promise Me" and immediately following the ceremony a nephew of the bride’s, Paul Odlaug, mason City, Iowa, sang "I Love You Truly." A quartet, composed of four brothers of the bride, then sang "Oh, Perfect Love: with a solo obligate sung by Mrs. Reishus. Following the ceremony a 6:30 wedding dinner was served at Ballard’s Resort with covers laid for 25 guests.

The happy couple left the following day for Cass Lake and Bemidji. From there they went through Itasca State Park to Duluth and Superior and on to Maple, Wisconsin. They arrived at Dorchester Tuesday evening.

Mrs. Erickson was formerly employed as an instructor in the public schools at Mason City, Ia., and Mrs. Erickson is the owner of the hardware store here. They will occupy the rooms back of the store. The many friends of the Erickson’s join us in wishing them much joy and prosperity int heir journey through life together.
