Klein, Dorothy (Marriage 20 Sept. 1946)

Choosing September 20, the birthday anniversary of the groom’s Mother, as their wedding day, Miss Dorothy Klein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Klein, Spencer, Route 1, and Donald Krause, Spencer, Route 2, were united in marriage at 1:45 p.m. at the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev. H. C. Hinz officiated.

The home was decorated with bouquets of fall flowers for the occasion.

Attendants were Miss Berdeanne Schultz, Marshfield, and Bernard Krause, Spencer, the groom’s brother.

Both the bride and her attendant wore blue wool suits, chocolate brown accessories and corsages of roses. The bride’s rhinestone bracelet was a gift from the groom. The handkerchief she carried was the same one carried by her mother for her wedding.

Mrs. Klein, the bride’s mother, wore a two-piece black dress trimmed with white. Mrs. Krause was attired in a brown dress trimmed with nailheads. They wore corsages of rose colored petals. Mrs. Ida Ewert, Unity, the only grandmother living, was complemented with a white corsage.

Supper was served to 70 guests at the Klein home. A large wedding cake topped with an appropriate ornament used for the decoration of the cake of the bride’s parents’ wedding 30 years ago, centered the table.

The young couple are on a wedding trip in northern Wisconsin and will reside on Route 1 near Spencer after October 1.

Both the bride and the groom are graduates of Spencer High School., Mrs. Krause in 1944 and Mr. Krause in 1941. Prior to her marriage, the bride had been employed by the Lloyd L. Felker Company, Marshfield.

Guests included Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ewert and family, Mrs. Bertha Luchterhand and son Ernest, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Carlson, Mr. and Mrs. Lester Ewert and family, Mrs. Ida Ewert, William and Frank Siegrist, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ewert and family, Unity; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Klein and Delmar, Park Falls; Ruth Ewert, Cornell; Mr. and Mrs. Myron Krause and family, Knowles; Mrs. Martha Klein, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Klein and family, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruesewitz and family, Miss Ida Kommer, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Krause, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Krause and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Krause and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Kommer, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stargardt and Paulina, the Rev. Mr. Hinz and daughter Lydia, Spencer; Miss Lenore Widman, Miss Elaine Radtke, Miss Bernice Winstrom, Miss Florence Koch, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Olson, Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kommer, Chippewa Falls.

Mrs. Krause was entertained at a number of pre-nuptial showers. A dinner was given by a group of her girl friends in her honor at Slims Steak House; a luncheon at the Hotel Charles was held with Miss Corrine Kraus and the girls in the Lloyd L. Felker Company office as hostesses; Mrs. Elmer Carlson and Mrs. Lester Ewert honored the bride with a miscellaneous shower; and Mrs. Ida Kommer and Mrs. Leonard Cramer were co-hostesses at a fourth party.
