Velma May Gardner was born May 14, 1933, in The Town of Beaver, Clark County, WI to Floyd and Margaret (Zuege) Gardner. She was raised on her family’s farm and educated in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1951. Velma was united in marriage to Elmer Gotter on Dec. 8, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal. They farmed north of Loyal, where Velma was a homemaker, mother and helped her husband on the farm. They sold the farm in 1990 and moved into Loyal. Velma then worked in Marshfield, at Figi’s for two years, and later at Weinbrenner Shoe Company for three years. She retired in 1995. Velma was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, in Loyal, and had served on the Town of Hixon election board in the mid 1950’s.

She will be sadly missed by her husband, Elmer, of Loyal; five children, Bonnie (Vern) Schreindl, of Marshfield; Eugene Gotter, of Riplinger; Dean (Beth) Gotter, of Spencer; Kevin Gotter, of Marshfield; Cheryl (Mike) Timmler, of Loyal; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Jean Gardner, of Owen, Wis.
