Manier, Marjorie (Marriage - 4 Nov. 1941)

Miss Marjorie Manier, Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Manier, of the town of Worden, and Pfc. Roy Olson, son of Sheriff and Mrs. Herman J. Olson, were united in marriage at the Brethren Church parsonage in her home township on Tuesday, November 4, at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Lewis Hyde performed the single ring ceremony in the presence of the respective parents and Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Olson, the latter couple, brother of the groom and sister of the bride, were the attendants.

The bride wore a blue crepe dress with black accessories and a shoulder corsage of carnations. Mrs. Herbert Olson wore black with white accessories and a corsage of pompons. Mrs. Herman Olson, mother of the groom and Mrs. Manier, the bride’s mother, were gowned in soldier blue dresses with white corsages.

After the ceremony the wedding party went to the home of the bride’s parents, where a large group of relatives were gathered for a reception and eight o’clock dinner.

Mrs. Olson is a graduate of the Stanley High School and of the Allied Academy of Beauty Culture, Chicago, where she manages the Adelle Beauty Shoppe. Her husband, graudate of the Greenwood High School, enlisted with the Illinois National Guards, being located at Camp Forrest, Tenn.

Mr. and Mrs. Olson plan to leave the latter part of the week for Chicago, Mr. Olson going to Camp Forrest from there.
