Neis, Jeroma "Jerry" L. (September 21, 1917 - February 4, 2007)

Jeroma L. "Jerry" Neis, age 89, 300 South Adams Avenue, Marshfield, died on Sunday, February 4, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Palliative Care, Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 11:30 a.m. at Our lady of Peace Catholic Church, Marshfield. Rev. Donald L. Meuret will officiate. Burial will take place in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield, and serving as pallbearers will be grandchildren, Jeff and Scott Neis, Andrew and Anne Hoffman, and Michael and Brian Burke. The visitation will be held on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Our Lady of Peace Church, where a Knights of Columbus Rosary Service will be held. Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Jerry was born on September 21, 1917 in Appleton, Wisconsin to Frank and Ann (Spoerl) Weber. She was a 1934 graduate of Wausau Technical College. She had been employed at Marathon Finance and later Thorp Finance, both in Wausau.

She and Francis J. Neis were united in marriage by Monsignor Toeller on November 27, 1947 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wausau.

She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church and the parish Council of Catholic Women. She also participated in several bridge clubs.

She is survived by her husband, Francis; a son, Francis M. (Peggy) Neis of Green Bay; and two daughters: Catherine J. (Lloyd) Hoffman of Eau Claire and Patricia J. (Thomas) Burke of Freeport, IL. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jeff Neis of Sheboygan, Scott Neis of Cincinnati, OH, Andrew Hoffman and Anne Hoffman, both of Eau Claire, and Michael Burke and Brian Burke, both of Freeport, IL. She is further survived by a sister-in-law, Geraldine "Gerry" Weber of Wausau.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers: Giles, Francis "Curly" and Carroll Weber; and an infant grandson, Patrick Francis Burke.

In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
