After several weeks illness caused by the complications old age brings to one, death came peacefully to Mrs. Sarah DeGraw, Saturday, May 21, at about 3 P. M.

Sarah Vanderhoof was born in Booneton, New Jersey, Jan. 22, 1850 and so had passed the 88th mile post in her long life. She was one of a large family born to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Vanderhoof. She grew to womanhood in New Jersey and was there married to Michael DeGraw Soon after the birth of a daughter they came to Wisconsin and settled near Spencer on a piece of wild land which in true pioneer spirit they proceeded to make it into a farm. Here their little daughter died and here two sons, Harry and Orley were born and grew to manhood and on this same farm the older son, Harry still lives. Orley lives in Petersborough, Ontario, Canada. In Nov. 1918 Mr. and Mrs. De Graw bought a home on the west side of the village and moved to Loyal. The following July Mr. DeGraw passed away.

Funeral services for Mrs. DeGraw, with Rev. R. J. Fleming officiating were held Monday at 2 P. M. at the Henry Boe residence where she had made her home for almost seven years and church services were at 2:30 in the Methodist Church where she had been a member and faithful worker since moving to Loyal.

The many beautiful floral offerings were in charge of Mrs. Henry Boe, Mrs. J. R. Colby, Mrs. G. Hamerstrom, and Mrs. W. I. Mack.

Pall bearers were Mr. Henry Boe, Mr. J. R. Colby, Mr. Ray Prior, Mr. Albert Davel, Dr. G. Thurber, and Mr. Fred Draper.

She was laid to rest beside her husband and little daughter in the Coles Corners cemetery.

She has an older sister, Mrs. Ed. Kayhart living near Spencer . She also has many nieces and nephews and other relatives besides many old friends and new by whom she will be missed.
