Danielson, David A. (9 DEC 1867 - 15 APR 1944)

David Andreas Danielson was born in Farsund, Norway, on Dec. 9, 1867 and passed away at the Neillsville Hospital, April 15, 1944, having reached the age of 76 years, 4 months and 6 days.

He came to Chicago in 1887 and was united in marriage there to Miss Mary Pearson on Feb. 25, 1893. To this union five children were born, one son dying in infancy.

In 1906 they moved to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) and have lived on their present farm northeast of Greenwood ever since. He was a carpenter and a farmer, was director of the Christopherson school district and was a member of the Trondhjem Lutheran Church. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary in 1943. He will be greatly missed in the congregation and in the community.

Mr. Danielson suffered a stroke 3 weeks ago and has been a patient at the Neillsville Hospital two weeks previous to his death.

He is survived by his wife, three sons, Peder of Marengo, Ill., David and Arendt at home, one daughter, Mrs. Christ (Hanne) Stensvold of Clear Lake, Wis., 10 grandchildren, two brothers, Nels and Bjornesta in Norway, 3 sisters, Mrs. Hannah Iverson, Chicago, Mrs. Sophie Iverson, Durand, and Mrs. Raka Anderson, Norway.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and his son.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, April 18 at 1:30 o’clock at the home and at 2:00 from the Trondhjem Lutheran Church. At the service, Mrs. Ernest Elmer and Mrs. Daniel Olson sang "Under His Wings", "Face to Face" and "It Is Well With My Soul", accompanied by Mrs. Aaberg. He was laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery, Rev. M.K. Aaberg officiated.

In his memory, a purse of money was given to the mission by Mrs. Danielson and friends..

The pallbearers were Adolph Turnquist, Carl Nelson, Wm. Rossow, Oliver Hendrickson, Henry Olson and P.M. Johnson.

The flower girls were Mrs. Lucile Oswald, Mrs. Harold Haupt, Mrs. Arthur Wehrman and Edna Elmer.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Peder Danielson and family, and Mrs. John Mattingly, of Marengo, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Christ Stensvold, Clear Lake, Wis.; Mr. and Mrs. Irving Iverson, Chicago.
