Parker, Mae (23 JAN 1868 - 16 JAN 1944)

Mrs. Mae Parker, daughter of John and Hannah Bowerman, was born in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) on Jan. 23, 1868 and attended school there. On April 20, 1883 she was united in marriage to Edwin Parker. They lived here until 1900 when they moved to Taylor County and in 1905 moved to Medford where they resided ever since.

To this union were born nine children, Mrs. Myrtle Maurer of Milwaukee; Mrs. Fern Nedry of Eugene, Oregon; Mrs. Fayer Showers of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Frances Forsyth of Minneapolis; Mrs. Dorothy Quinn of Astoria, Oregon; Ervin Parker, Medford and Major David M. Parker of Logan, Utah. Two sons preceded her in death, Clinton in 1937 and Leland in 1939, as well as her husband who passed away in Sept. 1938.

She passed away at the Medford Hospital on Sunday afternoon, Jan. 16, 1944 of pneumonia. She was taken to the hospital the previous Friday.

She is survived by the above named children, 25 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Medford Methodist Church, Rev. Henry Halverson officiated and the body was brought to Greenwood where she was laid to rest beside her husband.

Those from away who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Faye Showers, Wash.; Miss Bertha Parker, Minneapolis, Chas. Mauer and Mrs. Kathryn Vetter, Milwaukee.
