Sikorski, Josephine (27 JUN 1932)

Accompanied by Misses Harriet Wojtkiewicz, Charlotte Sikorski and Elizabeth Wojtkiewicz as bridesmaids, Miss Eleanore Sikorski as maid of honor and ushered by the Messrs. Stanley J. Sikorski, William Wojtkiewicz and Louis Sikorski, Miss Josephine Sikorski, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Sikorski, was married to Mr. Edward Wojtkiewicz, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ignatz Wojtkiewicz at St. Hedwig’s Church last Monday morning by Rev. Francis Kulig.

The bridesmaids, carrying red roses, wore net dresses alike except for the difference of pastel shades. The bride carried a bouquet of white roses and wore a close fitting white satin dress and long bridal veil, an imposing contrast to the groom who, like the ushers, was attired in dark blue. The altar was attractively decorated with ferns. Immediately following the ceremony the guests partook of the wedding breakfast at the bride’s home, the dining room which was decorated with white streamers. Sweet peas arranged in circles on the streamers added color over the breakfast table. Following the wedding breakfast, the Sikorski barn, previously provided with a dance floor and decorated with colored streamers, became the scene of prolonged dancing. The guests made merry to the familiar strains of "Koniec Swiata Polka" and much demanded a number called "Unknown Polka by Mike Kryzanski, the composer, who furnished the music with a four-piece orchestra and the guests enjoyment was vigorously expressed throughout the day, not ceasing until almost the break of dawn.

Among the many guests were several out of town people, including Mr. and Mrs. Thos. V. Ference, Mrs. John Balcer, Miss Harriet Wojtkiewicz, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph L. Wojtkiewicz, Mr. Michael Wojtkiewicz, and Mr. and Mrs. David W. James, all of Chicago, Ill.; and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sikorski, Mrs. F.H. Berube and daughter, and Mr. Stanley Sikorski, all of Highland Park, Ill.

The young couple will make their present home with the groom’s parents.
