Brodhagen, Ruth (11 March - 22 Oct. 1940)

Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bartell and their daughters, Mrs. John Meade, Milwaukee, who had been here on a several weeks visit, and Mrs. G. L. Schnug, Ripon, attended the funeral of an old friends, Mrs. Edwin Brodhagen, 38, Milwaukee, which had held at her formerly home at Watertown, Friday, October 25.

Mrs. Brodhagen (nee Ruth Wiedenhoeft), was born in Neillsville, March 11, 1902, to Mr. and Mrs. Emil Wiedenhoeft, who made their home in this city for six years. She was married Nov. 17, 1928, to Edwin Brodhagen at Watertown. The departed had been ill for three years. Several weeks ago she was taken to the Columbia Hospital at Watertown where she passed away on Tuesday, October 22. Funeral services were held at the Nowack Funeral Home in that city, Rev. Julius Klingman officiating. Interment was made in the Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery there.

She is survived by her mother and one sister, (Louise) Mrs. William Asmus, a niece and two nephews, all of Watertown.

Mr. Wiedenhoeft passed away six years. He conducted a tailor shop in this city and also was associated with F. P. Hemp in the grocery business, operating under the firm name of Hemp & Wiedenhoeft.

Ed. Brodhagen Survives

In the obituary of Mrs. Edwin Brodhagen (nee Ruth Wiedenhoeft) Milwaukee, last week, Mr. Brodhagen’s name was omitted from the list of surviving relatives. Since Mr. Brodhagen devotion to his wife throughout their married life and all through her three years of illness made the omission the more noticeable to friends of the couple, it is but fitting that the addition to be made.
