Hodnett, Emanda (25 APR 1852 - 8 JUL 1937)

Mrs. Emanda Hodnett, a resident of Clark County for 56 years, passed away at her home in Withee (Clark Co.) on Thursday of last week at the age of 85. Death came as a result of infirmities of old age. Funeral services were held at the Griebenow-Weirich funeral home on Saturday. Burial was made in the cemetery at Reseburg. Rev. P.F. Pfaffman officiated at the services.

The pallbearers were John Schwartz Sr., Robert Tisdale, William Gautche, Chester Neff, Hugo Wolters and William Niemi.

Mrs. Hodnett was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Deering.. She was born April 25, 1852, at Augusta, Maine. In 1881 she came to Clark County, where she was married to Henry Hodnett. They made their home on a farm in the town of Longwood (Clark Co.), where Mrs. Hodnett remained until 1920, at which time she sold the farm and moved to the village of Withee.

Mrs. Hodnett was well liked by all who knew her and will long be remembered in the hearts of her many friends. She was a life-long member of the Congregational Church and was always active in its affairs.

She is survived by five sons: Webster, Town of Hixon; Lynn, Town of Longwood; Earl, Village of Withee; Aaron, Town of Longwood; and Beecher of Owen, Wis. Her husband and one son, Arthur, preceded her in death.
