THORP -- Ernest Walter Timm, 87, of Thorp, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Thorp Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Gilman.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Ernest was born Aug. 26, 1919, in the town of Luddington, Eau Claire County, to August and Edna (Sapp) Timm. He was inducted into the U.S. Army on Jan. 17, 1941, and served overseas until his discharge Oct. 27, 1945. He married Delilah E. Meyer on Dec. 23, 1952, in Ely, Minn. He worked for National Presto for three years and retired from the Soo Line Railroad. His wife, Delilah, preceded him in death on Dec. 27, 2006.

He is survived by his sons, Colin (Barbara) of Saginaw, Mich., Robert (Diane) of Norman, Okla., Rodney and Francis, both of Minneapolis, Keith (Monica) of Marshfield, and Ken (Cindy) of Delafield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Louise Hougstrom of Duluth, Minn.
