Alice Nagel

Alice Nagel, 87, Edgar, died Friday January 5, 2007 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were held January 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA Edgar. The Reverend Jeff Tarras presided. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers for the service were Duane and Daryl Mueller, Allen Hamann, Kelly Hoppenworth, Thomas, Jeremiah and Zachary Lemmer.

Peterson-Kraemer Funeral Home, Edgar, assisted the family with arrangements.

Alice was born on January 16, 1919, in the Town of Frankfort to Fred and Martha (Walters) Burow.

On December 20, 1941, she married Edward Nagel at St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA, Edgar. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1971.

Mrs. Nagel was a homemaker, a member of St. John’s Women’s Group, where she was also the Sunshine Lady. She worked at church with Color Vision and had also been janitor. Among her favorite hobbies were quilting, needlework, gardening and baking.

Survivors include her four children, Elaine Mueller, Edgar, Joyce Le Voy, Stratford, Jean (Larry) Hoppenworth, Stratford and Sarah (Chris) Lemmer, Athens; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Durand Mueller; two sisters, Helen Bogenschneider and Viola Westphal; and a brother Herbert Burow.
