Weidman, Eva (27 APR 1897 - 20 JUN 1945)

Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) - Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Weidman, 48, who was killed in an auto accident at the intersection at Withee June 14, 1945, were held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greenwood Wednesday morning, June 20. The Rev. Raphael Stragisher of Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, officiated at the rites, and interment was made in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Greenwood.

Pallbearers were Perry Volk of Loyal, and Gerald Steffen, A.C. Buker, Edward Klinke, William McKenna, and John Lindner.

Eva Hogue, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogue, was born in Greenwood April 27, 1897, and was graduated from Greenwood High School with the class of 1916.

She was married in Greenwood to Ralph Weidman May 28, 1917. For a time after their marriage, they lived in Greenwood, then went to Prairie du Sac, and later farmed at Ableman before coming back to Greenwood in Mrch 1935, to farm at Hemlock, north of Greenwood. A few years ago the Weidmans bought their present farm, 1 ¼ miles west of Longwood.

Surviving besides her husband are four sons, Donald, Guy, Ralph Jr., and James, all at home; three daughters, Mrs. Donald (Beryl) Kruger of San Diego, Calif., and Mrs. John (Irene) Moore and Miss Adine Weidman, both of Watervliet, Mich.; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hogue, Greenwood; and a sister, Mrs. Al (Adine) Penrose, Coloma, Mich. Another sister, Mrs. Arthur (Edna) Zahren, Chicago, died in Watervliet, May 2, 1945.

Among those who attended the funeral were Mrs. Weidman, Ableman; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Rork, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Weidman and daughter of Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Mart Congor and Mrs. Lena Roeche, Port Huron, Mich.; Mrs. Mathilda Fahey, Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fahey, Stanley; and Mrs. Pearl Simerson, Medford.
