Pfeiffer, Erwin G. (1 OCT 1887 - 8 JUL 1946)

Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) - Friends received word yesterday afternoon of the death of the Rev. Erwin G. Pfeiffer, 58, pastor of Zion Reformed Church, Greenwood, and Braun Settlement Reformed Church from 1925 to 1941. His death occurred at Aberdeen, S.D., on Monday, July 8, 1946, the result of a heart attack.

The Rev. Mr. Pfeiffer and his wife left Greenwood for Artas, S.D., in 1941, later moving to Aberdeen, where they purchased a home. He had several charges in and around Aberdeen.

The Rev. Mr. Pfeiffer was born in the town of Black Wolf, near Oshkosh, Oct. 1, 1887, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Casper Pfeiffer. He lived at Oshkosh before taking his theological training at Mission House College, Plymouth.

During World War I, the Rev. Mr. Pfeiffer was pastor of an Evangelical and Reformed Church at Buffalo, N.Y., where his wife died about 1920.

His second marriage was to Miss Elizabeth Kuck in Ohio in 1922. The couple came to Oshkosh after their marriage and lived there for five years. He then came to Greenwood to assume his pastorate.

Surviving besides his wife, are a sister, Miss Margaret Pfeiffer, Oshkosh, and two brothers, John, Oshkosh, and Walter, Town of Black Wolf.

Funeral service will be conducted at Oshkosh Thursday afternoon.
