Arch, Louis (20 JUN 1869 - 31 JAN 1949)

Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) - Louis Arch, 69, died at 10 p.m. Monday (Jan 31 1949) at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. His health had been failing for several years.

The body will lie in state at the Arch home, 6 miles southwest of Greenwood, beginning Wednesday afternoon. Funeral services will be conducted at the Holy Family Catholic Church at 10 o’clock Friday morning, the Rev. Odile Hajusek officiating. Interment will be made in the Willard Cemetery.

Mr. Arch was born June 20, 1869 in Yugoslavia and came to the United States in 1901. He settled in Chicago where he was married to Elizabeth Vodopevic in 1905. They moved to Greenwood in 1917 and settled on the farm where they lived for 32 years.

He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church.

His wife died in March 1932, and three children also preceded him in death, Steven, who was killed in World War II in August 1944; William, who died in an auto accident in 1945; and Louis, who died at the age of 4.

Surviving are two sons, Ernest, who lives at home, and Frank, Greenwood; three daughters, Julia, Elizabeth, and Angeline, all of Milwaukee; two brothers, Joseph, Milwaukee, and Martin, who lives in Europe.
