Horn, Lorinda B. (17 JUN 1943)

Miss Lorinda Bertha Horn, daughter of Mrs. Ida Horn, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Adolph Bernard Wessel, also of Greenwood, in a ceremony performed in the parsonage of the Zion Reformed Church at Greenwood, June 17, 1943, at 2 p.m. The Rev. B.M. Fresenborg read the nuptial service.

The bride was attired in a white marquisette gown made with full bishop sleeves and a sweetheart neckline over which fell her veil of silk illusion caught to a net bonnet. White carnations and pink sweet peas formed her bridal bouquet.

Mr. and Mrs. Harold Horn, brother and sister-in-law of the bride, were matron of honor and best man; Miss Irene Herrmann, a cousin of the bride, was bridesmaid; and Elroy Schwarze, a nephew of the groom, served as groomsman. Mrs. Horn and Miss Herrmann wore pink and blue flowered organza dresses and corsages of roses.

Pink, blue and white streamers decorated the Horn home where a wedding supper, was served to 50 guests following the ceremony and that evening a wedding dance was held at the Merry Ol’ Gardens, with Dale Simmons Orchestra furnishing the music. A large wedding cake on a standard used for the wedding of both the bride’s mother and grandmother, centered the table.

The couple will reside on the groom’s farm near Greenwood. His bride has been employed at the Farmer Store for the last year.

Guests included Mrs. Bertha Karsten, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Herrmann and family, Colby; and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Ruprich, Dorchester, Wis.
