Mattausch, Delores E. (22 AUG 1940)

The marriage of Miss Delores Emelia Mattausch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mattausch of Alma Center, and Edgar John Wendt, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Wendt of ?, took place Thursday afternoon, Aug. 22, 1940, at 2 o’clock at the home of the bride’s parents. The Rev. K. Kurzweg officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was gowned in lace-trimmed white satin made in princess style and worn with a veil and a crown of seed pearls. She carried a bouquet of lilies and roses.

The bridegroom’s sister, Miss Alice Wendt of Owen, served as maid of honor. She was dressed in aqua marquisette with a headband to match. She carried a bouquet of pink lies and roses.

Bridesmaids were Miss Esther Everson of Eleva and the bride’s cousin, Mrs. Arthur Wehrman of Greenwood. Miss Everson wore blue marquisette and Mrs. Wehrman pink marquisette with matching headbands and should bouquets. The bride’s brother, Lester Mattausch of Alma, was best man, and ushers were Edwin Franz and Arthur Wehrman of Greenwood. All the men wore dark suits with boutonnieres.

Jeanette Wehrman, flower girl, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wehrman, wore an aqua colored frock and carried a bouquet of lilies. Junior Wehrman, the ring bearer, was dressed in white and carried the rings on a white satin pillow.

Bernard Kurzweg played the wedding march.

A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bride’s parents, which was decorated with yellow, white, blue and green streamers, and baskets of garden flowers. Mrs. Roy Larson, Miss Marguerite Borgwordt, Miss Dorothy Procschinske and Miss Florence Otto were waitresses, under the direction of Mrs. William Febfil and Mrs. Carl Jones.

A large crowd attended the wedding dance held that evening. Magda’s Swiss Melodians furnished the music. On Monday ngith, Aug. 26, another dance was given at Jackson’s Hall.

Out of town wedding guests include Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wendt of Thorp; Mr. and Mrs. John Wendt and daughter Alice, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Franz and Mr. and Mrs. William E. Zelm of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Wendt of Loyal; William Miller, George Miller, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Wehrman and family and Edwin Franz of Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz and family and Mrs. Mary Karnitz of Neillsville, Wis.

The bride has been employed at the store and tavern of her brother at Praag. The bridegroom has been employed at Western condensing Company plant at Owen, Wis. Following a trip to the West, including Yellowstone Park and other points of interest, Mr. and Mrs. Wendt will make their home at Praag.
