Miller, Donald L. (March 27, 1919 - March 16, 2005)

Donald L. Miller, age 85, longtime Town of Worden, Clark County resident passed away on March 16, 2005 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital, Stanley, WI.

Services were held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Stanley Church of the Brethren. Burial followed in the South Worden Cemetery. Friends and family called from 4-8 p.m. on Friday evening at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI and one hour prior to service time at the church. Plombon Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Don was born March 27, 1919 in the Town of Worden, the son of Joseph & Irene (Musselman) Miller. He grew up in the area and attended area schools. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Krueger on August 30, 1941 in Stanley, WI. They lived and farmed in the Town of Worden for over 40 years. Don also worked at the Stanley and Longwood Feedmill, Stanley Corporation and was a postal carrier for a number of years. He was a devoted Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather and especially enjoyed the grand and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was very active in his church. He was indeed, a man after God’s own heart.

Don is survived by his wife Mary of Stanley, WI, and his five children: Jeanne (Terry) Briggs of Janesville, WI; Betty (Victory) Melichar of Green Bay, WI; Cheri (Larry) Gerrits and Jerry (Connie) Miller both of Stanley, WI; and John Miller of Greenwood, WI; grandchildren: Gary & Rob Rynier, Kim Johnson, Toni (Dan) Bach, Jodi (Todd) Louis, Angie (Caleb) Weaver, Kris (Joe) Charais & Chad (Heather) Miller, David Miller, Holly (Marshall) Gause, Katie (Chet) Lindgren, Carrie Miller, Mike Miller, and 16 great-grandchildren; four sisters: Pearl (Cecil) Hanson of Chippewa Falls, WI; Evelyn Henke of Owen, WI; Fern (Wilfred) Shilts and June Phillippi both of Stanley, WI; plus many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Raymond and Vernon and a sister, Mabel (Arndt) Ricksford.
