Lester Nehrbass

Lester Nehrbass, 85, Athens, died Tuesday, Nov 7, 2006 at Hospice House, Wausau.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at Maurina-Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. The Rev. Stephen Russell will preside. Burial will be in the Athens Public Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dwight Lenhard, Richard Popp, Clayton Gore, Lyle Peel Jr., Albert Peel and Jolene Sinette.

Visitation will be held from 9-11 a.m. Friday, at the funeral home. Maurina-Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Lester was born Aug. 12, 1921, in Athens to John and Elsie (Degner) Nehrbass.

He and Esther (Krueger) were married June 17, 1944. They farmed in the Town of Halsey, Marathon County. Lester also worked as an artificial inseminator in the Athens are for 30 years and drove school bus for Gorke Bus Service.

He is survived by his wife, Esther, Athens; his ch8ildren, Gary Nehrbass, Janesville, and Pamela (Albert) Peel, Stratford; five step grandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.

A memorial will be set up in his name at the Wisconsin School for the Deaf in Delavan.
