Attorney and Mrs. C. R. Sturdevant were at Madison Saturday to attend a reunion of Mr. Sturdevant’s class, which was graduated from the law school of the University of Wisconsin in 1894. The class consisted of 44 students and of that number only eight survive. There were 15 present from the reunion, including the wives, a banquet being held at the Madison club in the evening. C. B. Culbertson of Stanley, a member of the class of 1894, also attended the reunion.

Mrs. Rose Schiller, Miss Stella Davis, Miss Eileen Hoepner and Misses Agnes and Louise Hed returned the first of the week after a visit to the World’s fair and a tour of the eastern states.

Mr. and Mrs. L. S. McCullough of Menomonie and Mrs. R. Sloniker and daughter, Mrs. Morris Sckekman of Keshena spent Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hardies and family.

Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Schnug of Madison and Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Bartell attended the 75th anniversary of the founding of St. John’s Lutheran Church at East Bloomfield last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bartell were married in this church 47 years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Schnug was spending several days here with her parents.

Dr. M. A. and Leo Foster spent Sunday and Monday at Antigo.

Mr. and Mrs. Paul Blum and his sister, Mrs. Johanna Blum, are spending two weeks with relatives in Chicago.

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Lukas at 191 South Grand Avenue is being remodeled. Part of the large wing has been cut away, reducing the size of the kitchen and dining room. A portion of the roof has been lowered and a garage partitioned off beneath. A vestibule will be added later and many other minor changes are planned for the interior. The foundation has been repaired and it is planned to pour a concrete floor and install an air-conditioning heating plant.

Mr. and Mrs. Will Kurth and daughter, Mrs. Clifford Tift, and family, attended a reunion of the Braatz family at Weyauwega Sunday. Their daughter, Mrs. Leonard Westphal, and family of Granton were also there and Mr. and Mrs. Tift and daughter, Jeannette, accompanied them home for a week’s visit. Mrs. Kurth’s brothers, Henry, Herman and Carl Braatz and their families, all of the town of Grant, were among the guests at the eighth annual reunion of the Braatz family.

Mr. and Mrs. Berton Wells, Mrs. E. Lloyd, Mrs. Ellen Darling and Mrs. Fred Bullard attended the Relief Corps convention at Eau Claire Tuesday. Mrs. William White, as delegate from Charles Bacon Corps, W. R. C., went on the opening day of the convention - Sunday. Mr. White went up for the evening Tuesday.

Mrs. Guy Hill of Montevideo, Minn., came Saturday for a week’s visit at the A. F. Flynn home and with other friends.

The wedding of Miss Lorene Witwin and John Kennedy of Nelson took place at the Catholic Church at Alma Saturday morning, according to announcements received by Neillsville friends this week. Mrs. Kennedy taught the third and fourth grades of the south side school here for several years. Mr. Kennedy owns a feed mill at Nelson where they will live. They took a short wedding trip to Port Arthur.

Mrs. John Waterpool and daughters, Goldene and Eldora, called on Mr. and Mrs. Roger Quinlan Monday evening.

Frank Housley, brother of Dr. H. W. Housley, and wife and their daughter, Mrs. George Fernhaber and son, all of Chicago, came Sunday for a week’s visit with the Housley family.

Henry Priebe of Kewaunee stopped at the Will Kurth home on the Ridge Thursday evening on his way to the Twin cities, where his two daughters, Louis and Elizabeth Priebe, were freshmen at the University of Minnesota this year. Mr. Priebe presented the Kurth’s with two six-pound lake trout, and that evening they invited Mr. and Mrs. George Wilding out for a fist supper, Mr. Preibe also being a friend of the Wildings.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Riggs and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bardell visited friends at Waupaca Sunday.

Mrs. Althea Bailey of Portland, Oregon, stopped here the first of the week on her way home from New York City, to visit her niece, Miss Kittie Kountz. She also visited friends at her former home, Greenwood.

Mrs. Fred Draper and daughter, Miss Bernice, were here from Loyal Tuesday. Mrs. Draper’s sister, Mrs. William Swann, accompanied them home for a few days’ visit. Miss Bernice returned recently from Greensboro, North Caroline, where she taught school.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Parrett and children of Wisconsin Rapids visited relatives in Neillsville Sunday.

Mrs. H. V. Vallam and baby Sally Dayle, of Milwaukee, are spending a few weeks here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Stelloh, and family, Mr. Ballam brought them Saturday and returned home the following day.

Edwin Bast drove to Madison Wednesday to bring his son, Louis, home from the University. Louis went to Kewaunee Monday night to attend the wedding of his friend’s sister and will spend the weekend there.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Seif and son, Franklin accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Sam Amidon of Hayward, spent several days with relatives at International Falls, Minn., returning to Hayward Sunday where they remained for several days fishing.

Mr. and Mrs. Ward Warden of Elroy visited at the Chas. Poole home from Thursday until Saturday. Mrs. Warden was formerly Miss Jean Davis.

Several persons conducted business in the county judge’s office Tuesday and Wednesday. They included: Gorton Vorland, Colby attorney and his client, Leo R. Domer, of Unity; Tony Schiller of Greenwood; Ed. Brown of the town of Longwood; Henry Horn of Longwood; Mrs. Johanna Woepse and son, John; Frank Rueth, town of Loyal; Arnold Nitschke of Granton; and Harold E. Fisher, Stanley attorney, and his client, Gilman Anderson of Stanley.

Mr. and Mrs. Ellsworth Bollom moved Tuesday to the house east of the Press office recently completed by Martin Lastofka.

Miss Enda Barr, R. N., left Wednesday for a short vacation employed at the Neillsville hospital.

The home of Mrs. Gus Borde on South Grand Avenue is being repainted.

Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Sievert and children of Fond du Lac and Miss Ada Sievert of Watertown are here for a few days as guests of their brother, Erich Sievert.
