Lloyd G. "Rink" Ringquist

Lloyd G. "Rink" Rinkquist, 83, Marshfield, died Sunday, October 22, 2006 at Brookfield Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2006, at Zion United Methodist Church, Marshfield. Burial was in West Spencer Cemetery, Reverend Mike Carlson presided.

Visitation was from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, 2006, at Community Funeral Home, Spencer, and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until service time at the church.

Lloyd was born May 17, 1923, outside of Unity, to Gustave and Julia (Williamson) Ringquist on the farm. He lived his entire lie in the Greater Spencer-Marshfield area.

Lloyd and Evelyn (Meacham) were united in marriage. She preceded him in death in 1980.

After WWII, he began his career with the Marshfield News Herald which spanned 38 years with the majority of them as the Advertising Manager.

Lloyd’s lifetime hobby and love was rock collecting. He enjoyed picking agates in Montana and having exploits with his lifelong friend Lester Burmeister of Marshfield, who shared his hobby.

He belonged to the Marshfield Kiwanis Club and was very active in his church, singing in the choir, being a lay minister and participating in mission trips around the world for many years.

Lloyd is survived by his very special friend Elaine Towne of Marshfield; his daughter, Diane Ringquist of Sacramento, CA; his son Paul (Mary) Ringquist of Brookfield; three grandchildren, Marcy (Kevin) Weidkamp, Peter Ringquest and Timothy Ringquist.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evelyn; and his sister, Eleanor Budde.
