Svatos, Anna (15 Aug. 1849 - 27 May 1939)

Mrs. Anna Svatos passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wenzel Sladek in the town of York, Saturday, May 27, at 9 o’clock in the evening. She was 89 years of age and had been ill less than a week.

Anna Kubat was born August 15, 1849, at Czecho Slovakia to John and Elizabeth Kubat. She was married in her native country to John Svatos and came to America May 10, 1910, and had been a resident of Clark County for 29 years. Two children were born to them, one of whom, Mrs. Wenzel Sladek, survives. There are also, four grandchildren, Mary, Mrs. Louis Walter, town of York; James Chili; Frank, Greenwood, and John, at home, and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held Wednesday, May 31, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at 9:30, Rev. Father Biegler conducting the rites. Interment was made in the Neillsville Catholic Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Four nephews, Frank, John, Joe and William Kubat and Herman Schlinsog and Robert Teatz.

Mrs. Polecek of Chicago was here for the funeral.
