Holmes, Inez (5 April 1850 - *14 March 1907) *Could be off.

After an illness covering a period of over three months, Mrs. Inez Holmes, wife of Edwin Holmes of this village, passed to her reward late Thursday night.

The cause of her death was diabetic gangrene and for several days previous to her departure it was known that her condition was critical and the members of the family and other relatives were sent for and were at her bedside when the end came.

Inez Charlotte Whitney was born in New York, April 5th 1850. When a young girl she removed with her parents to Wisconsin.

On Nov 9th 1867 she was united in marriage to Edwin Holmes at Beaver Dam, three years later they removed to Clark county, finally locating at Spencer, where they made their home for many years. The family came to Unity in 1908 and have since resided here.

Mrs. Holmes while very much a home woman did not neglect her social duties, she was a devoted wife and mother and a kind neighbor and friend.

Besides her husband she is survived by six children: Jay, of Rocker, Montana; Mrs. Cora Harmer, Disco, Wis.; Pearle L., of Fond du Lac; Earl, of Rib Lake; Mrs. Edna Oleson, of Cloquet; and Roy H., of Unity. She is also survived by one brother and one sister, Herb Whitney, of Lake Nabagamon and Mrs. N. A. DeLovely, of Superior, all of whom have the sincere sympathy of the community in their affliction.

The funeral was held Sunday from the M. E. Church at Spencer, Rev. Austin and Rev. Christiansen officiating.
