Stanley, Agnes (22 JUL 1869 - 23 MAR 1929)

Mrs. Norman Stanley, who was taken to the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire a month ago for treatment, died quite suddenly at that institution at 6:15 o’clock last Saturday evening. An operation was performed on Wednesday morning preceding, from which she was apparently recovering. The cause of her death was a blood clot. The remains were brought to M. Kretschmer’s undertaking rooms last Sunday, and funeral services were held at the Reformed Church, Tuesday afternoon. Rev. E.F. Menger officiated, with a large congregation of sorrowing friends present. Burial was in Mentor Cemetery.

Relatives from away attending the burial were: Mr. and Mrs. Chester Stanley, La Crosse: Mrs. Lillian Bone, Mrs. Geo. Bushey, St. Paul; Mrs. Mary Barrett, Wis. Rapids; G.E. Stanley and family, Ferron McClaflin, Altoona; Norman McClaflin, Eau Claire.

Mrs. Stanley attained the age of 59 years, 8 months and 1 day.

Miss Agnes Robinson was born in Chippewa Falls, July 22, 1869, where she lived for five years, then moved to Green Bay, later to Wis. Rapids; thence to Alma Center where her parents lived until they passed away.

Thirty-five years ago, on Thanksgiving Day, she was united in marriage to Mr. Norman Stanley, and took possession of his father’s farm, where they lived until the first of March a year ago. At that time the family moved into the village of Humbird (Clark Co., Wis.), which has been their home since.

To Mr. and Mrs. Stanley were born three sons; Henry, now living on the home farm; Clarence at home; and Chester of La Crosse.

She was a kind and loving wife and mother, loved by all her neighbors, and made a host of friends who mourn with the immediate relatives in her passing away. Surviving are her husband, three sons, three grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Bone of St. Paul, and Mrs. Marry Barrett, Wis. Rapids.
