Loney Will Recover

Roy Loney who was shot by James Smith on the 5th is reported to be slowly recovering. The bullet did not, as was claimed, pass through his body but entered his left shoulder, passed across his back grazing his spine, and came out at the right shoulder making a bad but not serious wound.

Smith’s preliminary hearing was held Friday before Justice Firnsahl. He waived examination was bound over to the September term of circuit court, his bail being fixed at $2000. which, as yet, he has made no attempt to secure, and is now confined in the county bastile at Neillsville, Wis.
