Chambers, Robert (5 APR 1857 - 12 DEC 1926)

Robert Chambers, brother of George Chambers, and a resident of this vicinity a number of years ago, died at the home of his son Ray, on the farm near Durand, Wis., shortly after 2:00 o’clock last Sunday morning. The cause of his death was a paralytic stroke, and the duration of his illness was ongoing.

Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the Methodist Church in Augusta, and interment was made in the cemetery there. Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Chambers and daughters, Mrs. Crandell and Mrs. Smith, attended the services in Augusta.

Robert Chambers was a native of Pennsylvania, born on April 5, 1857, and was 69 years, 8 months and 7 days old at the time of his death. When he was a young lad the family came to Wisconsin and for several years he lived in this vicinity. In 1881 he was united in marriage with Miss Lizzie Horel of Fall Creek. To this union were born three sons, Richard A. of Eau Claire, Ray H. of Durand, and a son who died in infancy. Besides his wife and two sons, he is survived by three brothers, George of this village (Humbird, Clark Co., Wis.), Hugh of Superior, and William of Eureka, Calif.

The deceased had a large circle of friends who regret his death, and who sympathize with those who mourn at this time.
