LOYAL -- Dorothy G. Miller, 92, of Loyal died Thursday, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Colonial Center in Colby.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 25, 2006, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Steven Miller, Dennis Miller, David Miller, Greg Miller, Robert Miller, Roger Ehlers, Mike Ehlers, Jacob Clemens and Douglas Miller.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Sunday at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Loyal.

Dorothy Gertrude Zander was born July 10, 1914, in Cross Plaines, the daughter of Jacob and Amelia (Bollenbach) Zander. She was raised and educated in rural Cross Plaines. She was united in marriage Oct. 7, 1935, to Francis Brings in Cross Plaines. After their marriage, they resided in Pine Bluff. Her husband died Nov. 15, 1940. Dorothy moved back to Cross Plaines. She was united in marriage to Alvin Miller on Oct. 11, 1947, in Cross Plaines. They moved to Loyal, where they farmed and raised their family. Her husband, Alvin, died July 17, 1988. Dorothy continued to live in Loyal until entering the Colonial Center in December 2005.

She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and was active in the Altar Society, was a member of the Loyal Senior Citizens, belonged to various card clubs and was a member of the Clark County Homemakers when she was younger. Dorothy had many interests, but especially loved spending time with her family, playing cards, sewing and dancing.

She will be sadly missed by three sons, Raymond J. (Caroline) of Loyal, James (Mary) of Loyal and Donald (Judy) of Mayville; three daughters, Linda (Bill) Ehlers of Greenwood, MaryAnn (Jim) Clemens of Waukesha and Susan Krupka of Athens; 14 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; and two brothers, Arnie (Elaine) Zander and Phil (Doris) Zander, both of Cross Plaines.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Francis Brings and her husband, Alvin Miller; three brothers, Roman, Jim and Tony Zanders; one sister, Julianna Diem; and one son-in-law, John Krupka.
