Horvat, Lavonne J. (2 Mar 1933 - 28 AUG 2006)

Lavonne J. Horvat, 73, Willard, died on Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, at her home, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, on Wednesday, Aug. 30, from 4-8 p.m., with a prayer service at 8 p.m., and at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard, on Thursday, Aug. 31, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Joseph Follmar will officiate. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Horvat, Daniel Horvat, Jeremy Bolf, Brandon Horvat, Justin Genteman and Shane Genteman.

Lavonne Joyce Henninger was born on March 2, 1933, in Granton, to Emil and Helen (nee Bender) Henninger. She was raised and attended school in the Granton area, graduating from Granton High School in 1951. She married Rudy Horvat on Oct. 30, 1952, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. They raised their family on a farm south of Willard. Following her husband’s death on July 25, 1989, she continued to farm until retiring in 2000. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, eating out with her family, puzzles and crossword puzzles. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard.

Survivors include her children, Dennis Horvat, Greenwood, Lavonne Linder, Marshfield, Cynthia (Jim) Bolf, Greenwood, Camille (Dave) Genteman, Granton, Scott Horvat, Willard, Steve Horvat, Willard, Sheila (Harold) Briski, Withee, Lisa (John) Richmond, Granton, and Grace (Jim) Genteman, Loyal; 37 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Vernon (Marliss) Henninger, Mercer; and one sister, Audrey (Jerry) Klein, Texas.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sons, Rudy and Craig; and one granddaughter, Holly Bolf.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, is assisting the family with arrangements.
