Gummerson, Anna S. (21 AUG 1866 - 13 MAR 1931)

Anna Sophie Gummerson, wife of John Gummerson, Sr., died at her home in the town of Reseburg (Clark Co., Wis.), Friday morning of last week, following a heart attack. About five weeks ago she was taken ill with the flu, and following her illness seemed to be recovering nicely, until the day of her death. She was 64 years and 6 months of age.

Mrs. Gummerson came here with her husband and family seventeen years ago and settled on their farm four miles west of Longwood, where they have since resided. She was a kind woman, and was liked by all who knew her.

She is survived by her husband and three sons, two of which were at home, and John Gummerson, Jr., of Owen, besides one daughter, who also resides at home, and one brother, Mat Johnson of Rhinelander.

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon from the Finnish Lutheran Church in this city, Rev. Kusito, Minneapolis, speaking in the Finnish language, and Rev. W.P. Powell of the Congregational Church, giving the English sermon. Burial took place in Riverside Cemetery.
