Anent the death of Mrs. Newton Burton which occurred at Reedsville on Oct. 2 we publish below the obituary clipped from the Plymouth Review which will be read with interest by her many friends in Unity in whose hearts she always had a warm place.

"Mrs. Newton Burton, a former resident of the town of Plymouth and well known and dearly beloved in this section, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Dr. Falge at Reedsville, Wisconsin Sunday, Oct 2. Maria Louise Leach was born in Trumbell County, Ohio on July 10, 1834. She removed with her parents to Sheboygan county Wisconsin in 1849. In 1858 occurred her marriage to Newton Burton. She resided in the town of Plymouth until the death of her husband in 1880, when she removed to Unity, this state.

Her declining years have been passed in the homes of her loving sons and daughters and the last five years of her life she spent at Marshfield with her youngest son.

Her life of the allotted three score years and ten has been one of sweet and noble self-sacrifice for the sake of other, cheerful, brave and uncomplaining in the face of hardships and trials, her days have been a blessing and a joy to those near and dear to her and she has truly shown forth the beauty and sweetness of true Christian love.

She is survived by four sons and three daughters: A. W. Burton of Green Bay; C. N. Burton of New Orleans, La.; H. C. Burton of Washington, D.C.; C. V. Burton of Waukesha; Mrs. E. T. Bamford of Plymouth and Mrs. J. H. Healy of Madison.

The remains were brought to Plymouth for interment and the funeral was held at two o’clock yester-afternoon at the Mulleton church, of which she was a faithful member for many years . The remains were laid at rest in the Harmon cemetery besides those of her husband. The services were conducted by Rev. J. T. Stretton of Hingam."
