Ohnesorge, Dusty "Duddy" Hayes (May 3, 1989 - March 24, 2006)

Granton teen killed while walking on roadway

Granton—A 16 year-old Granton High School sophomore was killed on the evening of March 24 as he walked with friends long a rural road just outside the Granton village limits.

Clark County Sheriff’s Department Chief Deputy Jim Backus said Dusty H. Ohnesorge was struck by a vehicle as he and two other youths were walking westbound on Granton Road, just west of the Granton village limits in the town of Grant. Backus said a westbound truck driven by 17 year-old Matthew G. Anibas of Granton struck the victim as he was walking. Backus said an investigation did not reveal that the driver of the truck was traveling at high speeds nor were there other traffic violations involved.

The Granton Fire Department, Granton First Responders and the Spirit of Marshfield all responded to the scene.

The death was the third on Clark County roads so far in 2006.
