Salter, Jennie (29 NOV 1861 - 26 FEB 1946)

The Rev. M.B. Ferguson will officiate at funeral services Friday afternoon at 1:30 o’clock at the Lulloff funeral home in Colby and at 2 o’clock at the Methodist Church in Unity, for Mrs. Jennie Salter, 84, Unity, who died yesterday morning at 9 o’clock after seven weeks’ illness due to complications following a skull fracture resulting from a fall at her home last November 29. Burial will be in the town of Brighton Cemetery.

Jennie Gallagher was born November 29, 1861, in Madison, where she married John W. Salter Aug. 24, 1880. He died Nov. 15, 1927. She had clerked in the Salter store at Unity for a number of years. She was an active worker in Lady Gray Rebekah Lodge, the Methodist ladies’ aid society and the American Legion auxiliary in Unity.

Surviving are six children, Mrs. Edwin Vogt, St. Paul, Mrs. James Stump, Cleveland Heights, Ohio, Mrs. Harvey Eby, Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Marion Tschudy, Monroe, and Arthur and Theodore Salter, Unity; a brother, Arthur Gallagher, Madison; eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
