Margaret Chotoff

DORCHESTER -- Margaret Chotoff, 86, of Wisconsin Rapids, formerly of Dorchester, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at Riverview Hospital, Wisconsin Rapids.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2006, at Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester, Wis. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Blasel, Wayne Ashbeck, Chuck Decker, Brandon Decker, William Decker and Bill Livernash.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday, both at Maurina Funeral Home.

Margaret was born Aug. 5, 1919, in Unterwirback, Germany, to Albin and Aurelie (Bahring) Froebel. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School. Margaret and Steve Chotoff were married Nov. 22, 1941. He died March 18, 1991. They moved in 1941 to Dorchester, where they farmed and operated a floral and gift shop. They did floral arrangements and decorating for weddings, anniversaries and parties.

Margaret enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals, and liked to travel.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Aurelie (Gerald) Ashbeck of Wisconsin Rapids; her grandchildren, Brian (Nichole) Ashbeck and Jennifer (Dane) Hofmister; and her great-grandchildren, Isabella, Joshua and Veronica.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Steve; four brothers and one sister; and two siblings in infancy.
