Meyer, Charles (12 JAN 1859 - 12 NOV 1934)

A requiem high Mass was said on Thursday morning at 9:00 o’clock at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church at Loyal, by Father A. J. Aurit, for Charles Meyer who passed away at the home of his son Albert, in Heintown, Monday evening at 11:40, November 12th at the age of 75 years.

The pallbearers were John Goetz, George Hoesser, Joseph Spangler, Peter Galles, Bernard Portz, Joe Wedel.

Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mrs. Albert Lukas, Mrs. Frank Anman and son Aaron, Norbert Scheckelman all of Jefferson. Mr. Meyer was born at Jefferson, Wisconsin January 12, 1859. He lived at Jefferson until the age of 25. He then came to Clark County. Three years later he was married to Anna Scheckelman, December 28, 1887, at Jefferson. . His wife preceded him in death nineteen years ago, and a son died in infancy; also a brother George Meyer at Bearton, Oregon.

He is survived by his brother John Meyer in Jefferson and two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Pete Klein) Chicago; Theresa, (Mrs. Stephen Hohhman), Arago, Minn. And his children Matilda (Mrs. Joseph Lechner), Ladysmith, Wis., Alvin Meyer, Ladysmith; Albert Meyer, Loyal, George Meyer, Jefferson; Julitta (Mrs. Henry Newhouse), Loyal. There are also 17 grandchildren.
