Blanchard, Bernice (8 SEP 1915)

A pretty event occurred Wednesday morning, when Miss Bernice Blanchard of this city (Colby, Clark Co., Wis.) and L.W. Richter of Dickinson, N.D., were united in marriage.

The ceremony took place at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.J. Blanchard at 8 o’clock, Rev. R.R. Braddick of this city officiated. Miss Pearl Blanchard acted as bridesmaid and Joseph Swarthout of Abbotsford, as best man. Only immediate relatives and a few friends were present.

The bride’s gown was a beautiful creation of white taffeta and net, and she carried a shower bouquet of pale pink roses. The bridesmaid’s gown was pink taffeta and net and she carried an arm bouquet of roses.

The Blanchard home was prettily decorated with pink roses and asters. The Misses Lona Firnstahl and Marie Kautsky rendered "O Promise Me," before the ceremony and Miss Florence Shafer played Lohengrin’s Bridal chorus, as the bridal party entered the parlor.

A wedding breakfast of four courses was served after the ceremony by the Misses Ruth and Helen Kautsky, Winifred Sullivan, Tessie Umhoefer and Margaret Conway.

Mr. and Mrs. Richter departed for the Twin Cities by the way of Spencer, where they will spend part of their honeymoon, from there going to Milwaukee, Chicago and to Buffalo. They will be at home in Dickinson, N.D. after Oct. 15th. The many beautiful and useful gifts received by the young couple show the high esteem in which they are held. The hosts of friends of both Mr. & Mrs. Richter united in offering congratulations and best wishes.
