Stowe, Vernon E. (7 MAR 1872 - 7 JUN 1934)

This vicinity was saddened when the news came that Mr. Stowe had passed away Thursday evening. He had worked on his farm that day and seemed in usual health, when about nine o’clock he suddenly passed away, death being due to a heart attack.

Vernon Edgar Stowe was born at Syracuse, N. Y. March 7, 1872. He was the son of James N. and Eleanor Smith Stowe. When a small child he came with his parents to Oxford, Marquette County, Wisconsin, and later moved to Friendship, Where he grew to manhood. He drove stage, carrying mail and passengers from Necedah to Friendship for several years.

On Nov. 26, 1902, he was married to Miss Mary Rohr and they have made their home ever since in the town of Beaver.

Mr. Stowe was town treasurer of the town from 1917 to 1933 and held the office of assessor for three years. Too much cannot be said of his business integrity and the community suffers a real loss in his death. He is survived by his wife and four sisters.

Funeral services were held at the home on Sunday afternoon at 1:30, the Rev. A. N. Chapman officiating. Burial was in the Beaver Cemetery.

The following were pall bearers: Richard Roidt, Millard Roidt, Joseph Roidt, Jr., Clarence Karnupp, Ottmer Schuette, Elmer Schuette, Jr.

Those in charge of the flowers were Margie Stowe, Edna Miller, Ora Stowe, Florence Stowe, Josephine Stowe and Mabel Stowe.
