Roscoe, Robert C. (1847 - 3 MAR 1934)

(Rathdrum (Idaho) Tribune)

Robert C. Roscoe, 87, retired farmer, died Saturday and was buried on Monday. The funeral was held from Cassedy chapel, the Rev. William Gornall officiating. Interment was in Pine Grove cemetery.

The following has been submitted: Robert C. Roscoe was born in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1847. He moved with his parents to Fond du Lac county, Wis., where he was united in marriage with Mary Jane Loomis. Two children were born to this union, a daughter, Cecelia Haskin, deceased, and a son, James M. Roscoe, now residing in Rathdrum.

The family moved to Loyal, Wisconsin in 1885, remaining there until 1906 when they moved to Wibaux, Montana. The daughter died there, and 14 years ago Mr. Roscoe’s wife also passed to the great beyond. He left Wibaux in 1920, coming to Rathdrum, where he resided until his death. In his earlier days he was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Besides his son, James, he leaves two sisters in the east, and eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, all in the west.
