Lautenbach, William (22 Aug 1860 - 17 Nov. 1937)

William Lautenbach, a pioneer of the Granton section, died Wednesday morning at the age of 77 years, 2 months and 26 days, at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minnie Marg. He was born in Germany in 1860, and was married to Bertha Blienner in the town of Grant in 1887. They lived there until his wife died in 1925 and the next year he went to live with his daughter. He was a school director and trustee of the American Lutheran Church.

Mr. Lautenbach is survived by six children: Mrs. Minnie Marg of Granton, Walter, Paul and Hattie of the town of Grant; Mrs. Frank Sutter, and Mrs. Edward Berndt of Milwaukee. Also four grandchildren and one brother.

The funeral will be held Saturday, Nov. 20, with services at the home of Mrs. Minnie Marg at 1:30 p.m., and at the Am. Lutheran Church at 2 p.m., Rev. John G. Buth officiating, interment in the church Cemetery.

Error in Obituary

The late William Lautenbach was born in Pommern, Germany, and came to America with his parents in 1866 at the age of 6 years, and not after attaining manhood as stated last week. The family lived at Manitowoc for a number of years and came to the town of Grant in Clark County in 1870. Mr. Lautenbach was a highly respected pioneer.
