NHS CLASS OF ’42 GATHERS


The Neillsville High School Class of 1942 held their 40th reunion on July 3, 1982, at Fannies Supper Club. A total of 36 classmates and their spouses attended. Marvin Hemp was emcee; committee members were Don and Rosie Kunze, Jim and Jan Hauge, Marv and Mae Hemp and Milton and June Schoenfeld. Class members voted to hold another reunion in five years.


Attending the event were John Kleckner, Lancaster; Louise (Ott) Kipp, Milwaukee; Dorothy (Tramm) Beyer and Dorothy (Imig) Seif, both of Wisconsin Rapids; Leona (Weiting) Fischer, Stratford; Doris (Freedlund) Long, and Eileen (Tramm) Schweinler, both of Rockford, IL; Dale Sherman, Houston, TX; LaVerne Erickson, Lino Lakes, MN; Wallace Schwellenbach, Beloit; John Christie, Dayton, MN; Kenneth Dux, Stoughton; Marcia (Janke) Frei, Sparta; Kay (Kearns) Palmer, Janesville; and Ann (Letsch) Scheffer, Humbird.


Joining them were Harold Murphy, Black River Falls; Joe Zilk, Windlakes; Henry Harder, Manitowoc; Gladys (Bardeleben) Cummings, Alma Center; Elaine (Irish) Jeske, Dodgeville; Harvey Mott, Souix Falls, SD; Betty (Dahnert) Goudin, and Virgilee (Watenpohl) LeDue, both of Eau Claire; Herb Langreck, Almagorda, NM; Dewayne Schweinler, Mauston; Jeanette (Short) Gaier, Mr. Horeb; and Shirley (Peterson) Coylier, Corvallis, OR.


Coming from Neillsville were Susie (Tresemer) Schrock, Jeanette (Miller) Zank, Marvin Hemp, Art Drescher, Jim Hauge, Don Kunze, Milton and June Schoenfeld and Darwin Graves.


Two of the class teachers, Agnes (Hed) Olson of Neillsville and Al Moldenhauer of Madison, were also in attendance.
