Richardson, Mrs. Elva Huntley - Birthday party

About 25, of Mrs. Elva Huntley Richardson’s former Clark County friends gathered at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gunderson in Hollywood, Sunday, April 25, and surprised her. The crowd gathered in the back yard and waited for the arrival of Elva who had been lured away from her home by her daughter, Mrs. Margaret Germain to go for a ride, when they arrived at the Gunderson home they were met by Mrs. Gunderson who had all the appearance of being alone. The day being warm and bright, she was invited to the Gunderson back year to see the beautiful flowers and garden on her arrival there the crowd say, "Happy Birthday to You." It was a real surprise and for some time she was unable to speak. She was then presented by Mr. Wilding with an arm full of gifts and cards and a lovely bouquet of red roses, after reading the cards and looking over the gifts all sat down to a long table in the yard loaded with good things to eat, a large birthday cake which read, "Cheerio Elva" graced the center of the table. When nigh began to fall the crown all gathered in the house where games were played until 8 p.m. when all departed wishing Elva many more happy birthdays and thanking the Gundersons for furnishing their beautiful home and yard. Forgot to mention the table was set under two huge avocados trees and a lemon tree in sight, all loaded with fruit.

Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stange (Elsie Altemus), Mr. and Mrs. Harry Neff (Hulda Wolf), Mr. and Mrs. Harry Turvey and son, Shelby Walder, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Herian, Mr. and Mrs. E. E.
