Parker, John H. September 15, 1892

John H. Parker died at his home about 7 miles west of the village, Thursday night, from cancer on the face. Mr. Parker sought medical aid in Iola last winter, but the physicians could not cure him. He has been lingering between life and death for the past six months. The funeral services were held at the church about a mile from his home on Saturday. The G.A.R. of this place took charge of the funeral, the deceased being an old soldier and a member of this post. He leaves a wife and five children to mourn his death. The family have the sympathy of their many friends
