Slaughter, Chris James, Jr. (August 19, 1966 - April 20, 2002)

Chris Slaughter Jr., age 35, of E26755 County RR, Fairchild, passed away early Saturday morning, April 20, 2002, at his home, following an A.T.V. accident.

Chris James Slaughter, son of Chris and Corinne (Hill) Slaughter, was born August 19, 1966 in Merrillan. He attended grade school in Merrillan and graduated from Alma Center High School in 1984. Chris served in the U. S. Army National Guard until discharged on August 24, 1991. He was united in marriage to Kayleen Heintz on September 13, 1986 at the Gile Memorial Park in Merrillan. The couple moved to Fairchild in February of 1987 and had recently moved to rural Fairchild, where they were raising their two children.

Chris had worked for Jim Statz Home Construction of Eau Claire and as a union laborer for Mueller Pipeline and Boldt Construction. Since 1992 he was disabled due to a medical condition. Chris was a loving husband, father, son, and friend. He was a guy who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, and especially grilling out. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Kayleen and their children, Jacob and Jenna Slaughter all of Fairchild; father and stepmother, Chris and Lois Slaughter of Grand Marsh; mother and stepfather, Corinne and Ted Janicki Jr. of Neillsville; two sisters Cheryl Slaughter of Wisconsin Rapids and Amy Janicki of Neillsville; maternal grandfather and step grandmother, Virgil and Millie Hill of Merrillan; 7 nieces and nephews; numerous friends and extended family members.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Frank and Josephine Slaughter and Lavina Hill.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April, 24, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Augusta, with Pastor Cindy Stamm officiating. Burial will be in the Fairchild Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home.
