Spry, Ida (6 April 1881 - 16 Nov. 1936)

Ida Pizer Spry was born in the town of Bloom, Wisconsin, April 6, 1881 and died in the Madison General Hospital November 16, 1936 at the age of 55 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Death came as the result of a brain tumor. She was stricken while touring the eastern and southern states.

She was married to William Jasper Spry in October 1898. The following year they came to the town of York, Clark County where they resided until the spring of 1919. Since that time they have lived in Granton.

To them were born five children - Lloyd, Mrs. Norma Yaenicke; Mrs. Nylva Kraus of Granton, Phelps of Chili and Dale of Longwood. Besides them she leaves to mourn her loss, eight grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. W. W. Smith of Granton and Mrs. Bert Brauette of Waupaca, two brothers, Milan Pizer, Beaverton, Oregon and Fred of Richland Center and a host of relatives and friends.

She was president of the Ladies Aid and a member of the Royal Neighbors. When a young girl she united with the Christian church and later transferred her membership to the Granton Methodist Church in which faith she remained unto the end. She was a faithful wife and a devoted and sacrificing mother and always a kind friend and neighbor.

The funeral was held at the Granton hall at 2 o’clock, Thursday, November 19, 1936. Interment was made at the Windfall Cemetery, Granton, Wisconsin.

Rev. Paul White of Viroqua, Wisconsin and Rev. E. P. Stone of Granton, Wisconsin, officiating. The pallbearers were her three sons, Lloyd, Phelps and Dale and two son-in-laws, William Yaenicke, Leo Kraus and Roland Quicker. Member of the Ladies Aid acted as flower bearers. Relatives and friends from out of town who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Bert Brauette, Waupaca, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Herb Herdick; Mr. Oiner Deets, and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Clouse of Loyal, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Allbaugh, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Wade, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Masher, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Pizer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Obsorne, Mr. Luther Fruits, Mr. Lon Huffman, Mr. Chas. Huffman, Mr. Elliott and Mrs. Cora Chatton of Richland County, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Roehl, Almond, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. Sedney Warrell, Beloit, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Ross, Fairchild, Wisconsin; Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Foster, Mr. and Mrs. Ward Foster and Mrs. H. L. Chamberlain of St. Paul, Minnesota and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Farwell of Longwood, Wisconsin.
